“The Sirena Yachts 68 is an immensely practical semi-displacement cruiser,” Yachting previously wrote. “The hull is based on the Sirena 64, which debuted in 2017, and is an evolution that goes far beyond the extra few feet of length that have been added toward the stern.”

Allied Marine currently has a 2023 Sirena 68 called My Lady Y listed for just shy of $3 million. The Florida-based flybridge motoryacht features an optional four-stateroom layout and comfortable amenities inside and out.

Whether you’re trying to get more sun on the flybridge or less sun on the foredeck, My Lady Y has the accommodations to fit. Note the sun shade and the sunroof. Courtesy Allied Marine

“The My Lady Y stands as the epitome of upgraded elegance in the market,” Allied Marine says. “Distinguished by its sleek design and unique ax bow shape, it outshines other boats in the 60- to 70-foot range.”

The foredeck offers two different lounge areas, the U-shaped settee and fixed table aft and the sun pad forward. If the sun is too harsh, there is a sun shade that can cover the entire space.

The cockpit is fully covered by the flybridge overhang so owners and their guests can enjoy a shaded alfresco dining experience at the fixed table and transom bench seat aft. Pull up a few chairs to fit as many as eight.

Sirena 68

The flybridge has two distinct sections, the forward portion that is covered by the hardtop and the aft, open-air section that has a two-stool bar as the divider amidships. Seating on the flybridge includes two U-shaped settees, one forward to port and one abaft the upper helm to starboard.

Sirena offers two different interior arrangements for the 68, with the variation being if the interior dining is forward to port, abaft the lower helm station, or to starboard and adjacent to the galley aft. My Lady Y has the aft dining configuration, making it a very entertainment-friendly motoryacht.

After a fun day on the water, owners and their guests can head belowdecks to enjoy one of four staterooms. Amidships, the full-beam master stateroom has a centerline berth, a desk space to port that sits beneath a hullside window that stretches nearly the length of the room, walk-in closet stowage and an en suite head. The forepeak VIP has a centerline berth, a desk area that sits beneath the built-in flat-screen TV and an en suite head. The optional starboard guest cabin has the bunk berth layout while the port guest cabin has side-by-side convertible single berths.

“The goal of the Sirena 68 hull design was to offer efficiency at speeds ranging from long-range cruising to planning,” Sirena Yachts says. “A slippery hull with minimal appendage drag gave the range numbers we were looking for, while optional power choices increase the top end.”

Twin low-hour (289) 1,000 hp Volvo D-13 diesels give My Lady Y a 26-knot top hop and a fast cruise of 16 knots. Cruising at 16 knots will give the 68-footer a range of 400 nautical miles. Slowing to 8.5 knots increases the maximum range to 1,150 nm.

Some other notable features on board My Lady Y include:

  • Seakeeper gyrstabilizer
  • Humphrey stabilizers
  • Bow and stern thrusters
  • Garmin Diamond package
  • Washer and dryer combo

Where is My Lady Y located? The yacht is currently lying in Aventura, Florida.

The traditional doctor’s advice is, “Take two, and call me in the morning.” After Willie Urbieta sold his family’s petroleum company in South Florida in 2021, the veteran boater found cruising to be just the right medicine for transitioning into semiretirement. In fact, he liked the Sirena Yachts 68 he’d purchased for cruising in the Mediterranean so much that he decided to trade up his Sirena 58 in Fort Lauderdale for a second Sirena 68. He’s now able to call on exciting ports in the Eastern and Western hemispheres in Sirena 68 style. Sold On Sirena’s Spaciousness Urbieta, 65, bought his first boat, a 29-foot Cruisers, when he was 24. “I made many, many mistakes in Biscayne Bay,” he says with a chuckle. During the following decades, he owned a half dozen increasingly larger boats, a mix of Sea Ray, Hatteras and Greenline models.

When he saw the Sirena 58, “what attracted me was how roomy and spacious a Sirena is inside,” he says. It also had a large flybridge, a requirement for him. “We have such beautiful nights here in Florida. You go out to dinner and can see the skyline or the stars from the flybridge as you’re cruising back.”

Sirena 68
One of the must-haves for Urbieta was a large flybridge to enjoy evening cruises in South Florida. Pozitif Studio

With greater freedom in time and travel on his hands, Urbieta also wanted to base a boat in the Mediterranean. He ordered a Sirena 68, not only to accommodate the necessary crew, but also to provide more room for him and his family: his wife, Maria; his daughter, Mariah; his son-in-law; and three grandchildren ages 10 and younger. In 2022, the family took delivery of Willma (a combination of his first name and his wife’s first name) in Turkey. They explored the Turkish and Greek coasts, and cruised all the way to Mallorca, in Spain’s Balearic Islands.

“That’s when I fell in love with the Mediterranean,” Urbieta says. “Such beautiful beaches, beautiful waters, beautiful marinas. Everywhere you go has so much history. I’ve been to Europe many times before, but seeing it from the water gives you a whole different perspective.” The Perfect Size For Urbieta, the 68 is the perfect size. “You can get into most marinas without having to reserve too far ahead,” he says. His family likes the spacious interior, especially the long dining table next to the galley. Urbieta’s favorite spot is the desk next to the helm, where he can keep one eye on business matters and the other eye on the beautiful scenery ahead.

There is even room on board Willma for Urbieta’s extended family. He hosted a reunion in 2022 of around 30 relatives at the marina in Sitges, Spain, where he keeps the boat.

In 2022, he cruised the Balearics and the mainland Spanish ports of Denia and Valencia. In 2023, Urbieta and a cousin cruised the whole Iberian Peninsula and up the Guadalquivir River to Seville. “Seville is special, but it’s even better when you arrive by water,” he says. A pro at navigating the many bridges in Fort Lauderdale, Urbieta took over from the captain and nosed the Willma under Seville’s bridges, with about 6 inches of clearance to spare.

Sirena 68
The Sirena 68’s galley location aft makes for seamless service to inside and outside spaces. Pozitif Studio

To make all kinds of maneuvers easier, he loaded up Willma with a variety of technical extras: fins, gyros, a Yacht Controller, dynamic positioning, and an extra helm station on the outside. The optional 1,000 hp Volvo Penta engines (900 hp Volvo Penta diesels are standard) “navigate so well,” he says. “Even in 6- to 8-foot seas, you’re doing 18, 19 knots, and it’s steady going.” That ride is aided by a high freeboard, and a seakindly and semidisplacement hull form from naval architect Germán Frers. Additionally, the Sirena 68 is a solidly built yacht that displaces about 103,600 pounds.

Thrilled with Willma, Urbieta ordered a twin Sirena 68 with a lighter interior to keep at his 105-foot dock at his home on the New River in Fort Lauderdale. “Sirena has been excellent,” he says. “It’s not just about buying a boat, but who stands behind it. That makes the biggest difference in the world.”

Urbieta plans to cruise Valentina (named for his grandmother) throughout the Caribbean, with St. Martin topping the list. And he’s frequently conferring with his European captain, his service team near Barcelona, and the Sirena dealer in La Palma about maintenance priorities so that Willma is in prime shape for the upcoming summer season. “I always feel happiest on the water,” he says.

Sirena Yachts’ smallest model to date recently made its US debut at the Palm Beach International Boat Show. The Sirena 48 completes the existing product line for Sirena, comprising the Sirena 58, 58 Coupe, 68, 78 and 88 models.

According to a press release from Sirena Yachts, the Sirena 48 is targeted at the next generation of boating enthusiasts to enter the on-the-water lifestyle, and is already proving to be popular in the market. The shipyard has sold more than 27 hulls to date, including 13 units in the US.

The builder offers two cockpit layout options: An open layout and a more traditional aft-deck arrangement. Jeff Brown

“Similar to the Sirena 58, the new Sirena 48 has the qualities to become another bestseller for Sirena in the USA and the Americas as a whole,” said Constantinos Constantinou, head of operations for Sirena in North America.

The new yacht features a semi-displacement hull, which is efficient in displacement mode, but also permits fast planing performance. It boasts a striking, modern trawler design and naval architecture from the drawing boards of naval architect Germán Frers.

Performance-wise, the Sirena 48 is capable of reaching top speeds of 27 knots and is ideal for brisk trips at speed, as well as for longer, efficient bluewater cruising. The yacht’s cruising speed is 17 to 20 knots, with an economical cruising speed of 10 knots.

The Sirena 48 has three spacious staterooms, as well as one additional, optional crew cabin. The owners’ stateroom is significantly larger and is comparable with those on a 60-plus-foot yacht.

The yacht has numerous layout options as well as two alternative layout options for the spacious cockpit. Customers can choose between an open layout and a more traditional aft deck, with the customization continuing to the stern area. A generous stowage area can be chosen to replace the crew cabin, with a full-height door or seating area, which opens out of the transom.

Additionally, Sirena Yachts has recently unveiled a new hybrid variant of the Sirena 48 capable of silent power on demand without exhaust emissions. Driven by twin 213kW/285hp electric motors, the Sirena 48 hybrid tops out at a speed of 14 knots. In silent electric mode, it can draw power directly from the large battery bank to cover up to 30 nautical miles before switching on the variable-speed generators.

“As an all-weather yacht offering an unprecedented level of choice and flexibility for a boat in her size range, we anticipate that she will be very well received across both the Mediterranean and US markets,” said Sirena Yachts COO Ali Onger. “The fact that we’ve already sold more than 27 of these units to date speaks for itself!”

An impressive combination of design elements come together aboard the Sirena Yachts 64, that make this motoryacht equally suited for long-distance cruising, weekend sojourns and dayboating with the family. Jeff Brown Yachts has this 2020 Sirena 64 currently listed just shy of $2.5 million.

Twin 1,000 hp Caterpillar C12.9 diesels power this stout motoryacht, with an 83,775-pound displacement, to a reported 28-knot top hop and a 16-knot fast cruise speed. Backing down to an economical cruise speed of 10 knot gives the 68-footer a reported 1,200-nautical-mile range. A Seakeeper 16 helps keep the yacht stable as a table.

A sunroof on the hardtop allows owners to dial in (or out) sunlight on the forward section of the flybridge. Courtesy Jeff Brown Yachts

“The boat turned hard-over in about a boat length and a half at 14 knots, and cruised ably at both 10 and 16 knots while her engines burned 10 and 34 gph, respectively. With the hammer down, the Sirena scooted along at 28 knots while slapping down the seas with aplomb and burning 99 gph. She was, in fact, a very dry boat—even with the winds shooting salt spray into the air—owing to that freeboard and subtle bow flare. With the choppy sea state, I dropped her into neutral to check out the Seakeeper 16 gyrostabilizer, and the yacht stuck in place like a well-tossed dart,” Yachting previously reported.

Exterior spaces on this Sirena 64 are as abundant as they are impressive. Seating in the cockpit includes a transom bench seat and two fixed tables that join in the middle to give the effect of one larger table. Pull up a few chairs and there’s alfresco dining for up to six. High bulwarks and wide side decks create safe passage to and from the foredeck, which was penned for relaxation with a sun pad forward and U-shaped settee with fixed table.

Sirena Yachts 64
Guests can take their pick between the foredeck’s forward sun pad–or stargazing pad–and the U-shaped dinette abaft. Courtesy Jeff Brown Yachts

This Sirena 64’s flybridge has several entertainment areas. Forward and to starboard is a lounge pad, directly across from the dual-seat helm station. A U-shaped dinette abaft the lounge pad offers alfresco dining with views and as much shade or sunshine as guests desire thanks to the hardtop’s sunroof over the front section of the flybridge. The after section of the flybridge is a blank slate for owners, add a few lounge chairs for an additional sunbathing area.

The interior on this 68-footer has an open, modern and warm interior, aided by low-profile furnishings, a lack of bulkheads, neutral tones and natural light from nearly 360 degrees of glass. Stepping into the salon via sliding glass doors, guests are greeted by L-shaped settees flanking the space. A flat-screen TV is hidden behind the settee to port.

The galley is forward and to port, amidships, with a formal dining area directly to starboard. The galley has enough provision stowage for an extended cruise, Corian countertops, a stainless-steel sink and an array of Miele appliances, including a refrigerator and freezer, a four-burner cooktop with stainless-steel pan holder, an oven, an extraction hood and a dishwasher.

When it’s time for bed, three staterooms are belowdecks. The full-beam, amidships master stateroom has a king berth with en suite head, while the forepeak VIP has a centerline queen berth with en suite head. The final guest stateroom, also en suite, has single berths.

Two leading yachtbuilders, Sirena Yachts and Sunreef Yachts, have opened new shipyards.

Sirena Yachts has renovated three build halls in Yalova, Turkey, which is near Istanbul, so the spaces can be dedicated to construction of the brand’s new superyacht line that starts with the 42 Steel. The builder now has a workforce of 1,200 people.

“Yalova is an area renowned for its commercial shipbuilding, so it is appropriate that we should be building the new 42 Steel there,” chief operations officer Ali Onger stated in a press release. “Hot steel work, such as cutting, bending and welding, will all be done by subcontractors on-site. We will also do the outfitting and interior fit-out here. The chief advantage is that we can launch our growing range of big yachts directly from the production halls, with no need for transportation to the water’s edge.”

The original Sirena Yachts shipyard, which is located inland, will continue to manufacture the Sirena 48, 58, 68 and 78. Fit-out on the Sirena 68 and 78 is done at another location in Yalova. The Sirena 88 flagship model is built in Tuzla, in a location that allows for construction of four of the 88s at a time.

Meanwhile, in Ras Al Khaimah, UAE, Sunreef Yachts used the occasion of the recent Dubai International Boat Show for the official inauguration of its new shipyard. Sunreef says the new location signifies the brand’s commitment to expanding its global presence, with construction in the new facility at first focused on the Ultima catamaran range.

Several Ultimas have already been ordered, Sunreef says, and the first Ultima 55 is in build. The Ultima range of hybrid-propulsion catamarans includes five models: 44, 55, 66, 77 and 88. Features on these Ultima catamarans are intended for greener cruising, with solar panels, energy-saving air conditioning, lighter-weight batteries for better efficiency, and water-saving taps and efficient watermakers.

Also part of the inaugural ceremony was a look at two of Sunreef’s electric yachts: the Athena Too powerboat, and the Marie Joseph, which is a Sunreef 80 Eco.

The celebration of Sunreef’s new shipyard was star-studded with dignitaries. Attendees included His Highness Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, UAE Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah, along with former Polish President and Nobel Peace Prize laureate Lech Walesa, and ambassador of Poland Jakub Slawek.

For the yachtsman looking for a long-range cruiser, Purgatory, a 2023 Sirena 68 is on the market at just shy of $3.7 million.

The Sirena Yachts 68 is an immensely practical semi-displacement cruiser. The hull is based on the Sirena 64, which debuted in 2017, and is an evolution that goes far beyond the extra few feet of length that have been added toward the stern, as reported in Yachting. Carbon fiber used in the superstructure lowers the center gravity while reducing the weight of the vessel, reducing overall fuel consumption and increasing the cruising range with added stability and a more comfortable ride.

Jeff Brown Yachts noted the interior is a special blend of craftsmanship, elevating every aspect of the space to make it feel welcoming, comfortable, and spacious. Interior design by Tommaso Spadolini, pairing Italian flair with Turkish craftsmanship, it is a yacht with significant aesthetic appeal. The Sirena 68 incorporates a German Frers semi-displacement hull form, which delivers long range through efficient operation at all speeds.

When fully loaded, six guests, fresh water and fuel tanks full, the Sirena 68 displaces almost 104,000 pounds. Purgatory has the upgraded twin 1,000 horsepower Volvo Penta D13 engines, which add a few extra knots to the top-end speed versus the standard 900 horsepower D13 engines. Cruise Purgatory comfortably at 16 knots for a 400-nautical-mile range, or throttle up to 28 knots when desired. With a 1,387-gallon fuel tank and 370 gallons of freshwater, plus 47 gal./hr. watermaker, the Sirena 68 is set up for extended stays on board.

Step aboard Purgatory and climb up the integral teak-clad steps from the port side of the cockpit to the flybridge. Purgatory has a hybrid carbon fiber flybridge with hardtop and open aft deck, which can be used for sunbathing, additional seating, a tender davit or more. Owner’s choice. The flybridge has a non-skid surface, a forward seating area with removable cushion and stowage underneath, a sofa to starboard that seats eight guests with stowage and a teak table, a minibar unit with sink, barbeque and stowage for optional fridge, portside wet bar with stowage underneath and a helm station with Garmin GPSMAP 8612, Garmin GHS 11 VHF Radio, bow thruster and more.

Other amenities on the flybridge include:

  • Garmin Diamond Package (Nr.2 x 22″ chart plotters for salon & Nr.1×16″ chart plotter for flybridge, open-array Fantom 54 )
  • Garmin Additional Nr. 1 x 16″ chart plotter for Platinum Package
  • Garmin Class B AIS
  • Garmin IP camera in engine room and aft cockpit
  • KVH SAT TV system TracVision TV6 with 2nd (empty) dome
  • Electric searchlight with a control in main helm and flybridge
  • Starlink system
  • Plexiglas® windshield at helm
  • Mast for 18″ 4 kW HD radar, navigation lights, VHF antenna, horn and optional navigation equipment
  • Shower with hot/cold water mixer on mast
  • Anchor windlass control
  • Navigation/anchor lights switch
  • Interceptor manual control
  • Chain counter

Purgatory’s main-deck layout is an open, single-level floor plan from the cockpit to the helm forward. The cockpit has a sofa with cushion and seating for up to eight guests with a teak table and teak sole protected by the flybridge overhang. LED spotlights under the flybridge are dimmable for night-time entertainment, and courtesy lights lead you up the stairs to the flybridge. Guests have access to the swim platform on both the port and starboard sides via steps, which are protected by two stainless-steel and Plexiglas® gates. Crew has access to the engine room from the cockpit via a hatch or soft patch for engine or generator removal. In case of emergency, owners have access to an emergency panel, which can activate the fire- suppression system manually.

Entering the salon through a sliding glass door, the first thing you will notice are the nearly 360 degrees of windows providing ocean views and allowing natural light to flow into the salon. Carbon fiber construction of the flybridge allowed for engineers to use pillars and support beams to support the hardtop and flybridge, enabling more windows in the salon and galley. The salon has a wooden sole, an upholstered C-shaped sofa, portside coffee tables, starboard cabinet with drawers and TV lifting system. LEDs in the salon are controlled by a dimmer, and windows have black mesh covers to reduce outside light. The helm is forward and to port with the same amenities as the flybridge helm. Abaft the salon is a dinette to starboard, which is conveniently across from the aft galley. Evening entertainment can be provided by the Fusion Marine entertainment system with two speakers in the salon and two speakers in the cockpit.

The galley is located to port just inside the sliding glass door from the cockpit and abaft the main salon. Open the galley window and sliding glass door and the main deck becomes an open-air environment with the cockpit, galley and salon areas all connected, allowing owners to comfortably entertain guests.

The galley has a wooden sole, Corian countertops, four-hob glass ceramic cooktop with stainless-steel pan holders, microwave oven, refrigerator/freezer, 9.2-cubic-foot extraction hood, stainless-steel sink and water mixer, low cupboards and trash can all lit by LED spotlights. The galley truly brings the comforts of home to the water.

After a long day in the sun and an evening of lively entertainment, a good night’s sleep is well deserved. Down a set of carpeted steps lit with courtesy lights into the lower deck, owners and guests will have access to the master stateroom, a VIP stateroom, each with a private head, and a third guest stateroom, also with head access.

Located amidships, the master stateroom is a full-beam suite with a double berth and nightstands with stowage. Owners will enjoy the walk-in closet aft on starboard side next to the en suite head, while a full-size mirror and vanity table with seat are to port. There is stowage on the starboard side with eight drawers. Dimmable LED spotlights, two wall lights, courtesy lights and reading lights are adjustable to the owner’s preference. Two hull-side windows will allow light into the master stateroom.

Guests can take their rest in either the VIP stateroom or the third guest stateroom. The forepeak VIP has carpet and laminated wall panels. The double berth has stowage underneath and chest-type stowage with cushions in front of the berth. There is more wardrobe stowage in portside shelves and a hanging locker to starboard. There is a vanity with a seat, full-size mirror and nighttime reading lights.

The final guest stateroom is located on the port side with carpet. Twin berths have stowage underneath and a shared nightstand, making it a solid fit for the kids.

Purgatory also has crew quarters available with two bunk beds accessed via a pantograph door on the stern. Crew members have access to a kitchenette area with sink, a sofa, which seats three, and a door to the engine room.

Where is Purgatory located? The yacht is currently lying in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

Sirena Yachts in Turkey says preparations are underway for the U.S. debut of the Sirena 48 at the Palm Beach International Boat Show, which is scheduled to take place March 21-24 in Florida.

The Sirena 48 is the builder’s new entry-level model. According to the shipyard, 27 of the hulls are already sold, including 13 that are bound for owners in the United States.

“Similar to the Sirena 58, the new Sirena 48 has the qualities to become another bestseller for Sirena in the USA and the Americas as a whole,” Constantinos Constantinou, head of operations for Sirena in North America, stated in a press release. “The anticipation and excitement for her arrival is very high already.”

The yacht joins Sirena’s other models, which include the Sirena 58, the 58 Coupe, and the 68, 78 and 88.

The builder expects the Sirena 48 to be popular with owner-operators. The semi-displacement hull is designed to be efficient in displacement mode, but also to permit fast planing performance. Naval architecture is by Germán Frers.

Features include a swim platform sized to carry a tender or personal watercraft. Owners can choose from layouts that are open, or that have a more traditional aft deck. The crew cabin can be replaced with extra stowage.

In all the layouts, the flybridge is extended with an alfresco dining area and numerous sun pads located forward.

Inside, accommodations include three guest staterooms and the optional crew cabin. The owner’s stateroom, according to the builder, is comparable in size to what’s typically aboard a 60-foot yacht.

The hardtop of the coupe version gives the Sirena 48 a sportier exterior and brings natural light into the salon below. This version also reduces the yacht’s weight and windage, improving performance for owners who select the option of electric propulsion. Solar panels set into the hardtop roof help to prolong the operating range of the yacht under electric power alone.

“As an all-weather yacht offering an unprecedented level of choice and flexibility for a boat in her size range, we anticipate that she will be very well received across both the Mediterranean and U.S. markets,” Sirena Yachts COO Ali Onger stated in a press release. “The fact that we’ve already sold more than 27 of these units to date speaks for itself.”

Let’s talk performance: According to the builder, the Sirena 48 can achieve top speeds of 27 knots, with a cruising speed of 17 to 20 knots. Economical cruising speed is 10 knots. The hybrid version is driven by twin 213 kW (285 hp) electric motors for a top hop of 14 knots. In silent electric mode, the boat can draw power directly from the battery bank to cover up to 30 nautical miles before switching on the variable-speed generators, according to Sirena.

Sirena Yachts in Turkey has unveiled a hybrid version of its entry-level motoryacht, the Sirena 48.

The Sirena 48 made its debut at the 2023 Cannes Yachting Festival. Now, the builder is adding an option for buyers to outfit the engine room for silent power on demand without exhaust emissions.

Most of the same styling and features remain from the original Sirena 48, including three staterooms for guests. Sirena Yachts added a coupe-style coachroof where the original version of the boat had an open-air flybridge, for a couple of reasons. First, to create a sportier exterior, and second, to reduce the yacht’s weight and windage so performance and range can be enhanced for the electric propulsion.

The coachroof has solar panels set into it, adding more power for the yacht to use under electric operation.

“The hardtop design is particularly well suited to the hybrid drive system, and offers a remarkable solution in terms of aesthetics while maximizing the number of solar panels,” Sirena Yachts CEO Cagin Genc stated in a press release. “At Sirena Marine, we have been working hard to integrate a robust, meaningful hybrid option for some time. And though we are starting with our latest 48-foot yacht model, we are able to implement the solution on any of the yachts in our range, which runs up to 88 feet.”

Sirena 48 hybrid

The Sirena 48 hybrid has twin 213-kilowatt electric motors for a reported top speed of 14 knots. In silent electric mode, it can draw power directly from the battery bank to cover up to 30 nautical miles before switching on the variable-speed generators.

Sirena Yachts says one typical use case for that setup is a boat owner who wants to make a low-profile departure from the harbor or anchorage without the noise and emissions of a diesel system.

For longer range and more speed, the two generators produce electricity to drive the boat and recharge the batteries. Unlike a diesel engine, these generators can be positioned independently of the yacht’s propellers, reducing noise and vibration on board. When the boat reaches its destination, the batteries should be full again, allowing owners to overnight in total silence. There should be no need to start the generators for more than eight hours, even with the air conditioning on and the galley or audiovisual systems in use, according to the shipyard.

“By integrating hybrid solutions from e-Motion, Sirena Marine is bringing many new benefits to its yachts,” Genc added. “Not only can they offer quieter and more comfortable cruising at anchor and underway, we estimate that a hybrid system can reduce fuel consumption by up to 35 percent and cut maintenance costs by 10 to 15 percent.”

Can owners still choose layouts and styling with the Sirena 48 hybrid version? Yes. And the hybrid propulsion option is now available across all of the shipyard’s models.

Obrigada, a Sirena 58, is currently listed with Jeff Brown Yachts for $2.39 million. The 2023 semi-displacement yacht has a three-stateroom layout with a crew quarters, a Bahamas-friendly, 4-foot-1-inch draft and an 850-nautical-mile range.

When Yachting first reported on the Sirena 58, we noted how the model developed based on feedback from the builder’s yacht owners: “Designed by Germán Frers, the Sirena 58 has a semi-displacement hull form with a wave-slicing plumb-bow. She looks modern, rugged and ship-like with a seemingly low profile. Interior design is by Tommaso Spadolini.”

When it comes to Obrigada’s exterior spaces there are multiple locations to catch some sun and enjoy alfresco dining. The foredeck has a three-person bench seat abaft a three-person sun pad with adjustable backrests. The cockpit has alfresco dining for up to eight when you add loose chairs to the fixed table and transom bench seat.

Guests can enjoy the best of both worlds on the flybridge, which has a U-shaped dinette to starboard and a lounge pad forward, adjacent to the two-seat helm station to port. The skipper can dial in the desired sunlight thanks to the hardtop’s retractable sunroof. The after section of the flybridge has space to add loose furniture, add patio chaise lounges for sunning or regular lounge chairs for casual conversation over drinks.

Obrigada features the Sirena 58’s standard three-stateroom layout, which has a full-beam master (17’7″) stateroom amidships, a forepeak VIP and a third guest stateroom to port, all with en suite heads. The master stateroom has a centerline berth, a desk and a 43-inch flat-screen TV. The VIP has a centerline berth and the third stateroom has twin berths. The third stateroom’s en suite head also serves as the day head via companionway access. There is a crew quarters aft with a single berth and an en suite head.

Obrigada has a galley aft layout, which positions the galley between the cockpit and the salon, making it easy to serve guests inside and outside. The galley has an electric cooktop, a sink, a dishwasher, a microwave/convection oven, stowage and refrigerator and freezer drawers. In the salon, there is seating for eight between the L-shaped sofas to port and to starboard. The lower helm station is forward and to port.

As Yachting said in its initial review when referring to the Sirena 58’s main deck, “Nearly 360 degrees of glass in the superstructure provides ocean views in all directions and clean sightlines for the helmsman.”

Power for Obrigada comes from twin 670 hp Volvo Penta D11 diesels, which give this 58 Coupe a reported 26-knot top hop and a cruise speed of 16 knots. According to Sirena Yachts, the yacht’s best range is approximately 850 nautical miles at 10 knots.

The vessel’s hydraulic swim platform doubles as the tender stowage for the yacht’s Highfield 390 tender, which is equipped with a 60 hp Yamaha 60 outboard and a Bimini top.

Some other notable features on board Obrigada include a Seakeeper gyrostabilizer, Garmin electronics Platinum Package, including two 16-inch chart plotters and a Fantom 54 open-array Fantom radar, fishfinder, IP cameras in engine room and flybridge, a full-size Starlink flat panel, a freshwater deck wash system, an extra anchor, a Dockmate remote, a variable-speed electric stern thruster, main deck helm and flybridge helm joystick controls and a washer-and-dryer combo.

Benetti Oasis 34M Ubiquitous

The Benetti Oasis 34M Ubiquitous is scheduled to make its US debut at the 2023 Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show. This is a 112-foot fiberglass motoryacht with exteriors by RWD in Britain and interiors by the New York firm Bonetti & Kozerski. The stern on Ubiquitous has Benetti’s Oasis Deck, which includes two wings that open to enlarge the space. An infinity pool is here as well, and the space adjoins the main-deck salon to give guests the option of sun-drenched or shaded spaces for relaxation.

Also at the show: Benetti will showcase the B.Yond 37M Never Say Never Again. It’s a 121-foot motoryacht from architect Stefano Righini with an E-Mode Hybrid system from Siemens Energy. The idea is to reduce harmful emissions while giving owners the option of four operating modes, including a fully electric mode for zero-emissions cruising.

Four New Yachts from Azimut

Azimut will have four yachts making their Americas premiere at the 2023 Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show: the Verve 48 outboard, Magellano 60, Grande 36M and S7.

The Verve 48 outboard is a sport boat for weekends, designed in collaboration with Francesco Struglia. Its power is triple 600 hp Mercury outboards that promise a top speed of 50 knots. The stern has been updated from previous models; it now includes “the most extensive swim platform ever,” according to Azimut.

Crossover appeal is at the heart of the Magellano 60, with features intended for longer-distance cruising. For sustainability, the Azimut Magellano 60 can be delivered with HVOlution, a biofuel produced by Eni Sustainable Mobility. Azimut says this fuel, when combined with the shipyard’s semi-planing Dual Mode hull, can reduce carbon-dioxide emissions by more than 80 percent compared to yachts using traditional fuel.

With the Grande 36M, Azimut is showcasing a semi-walkaround upper deck that runs on the same level from the stern almost to the tip of the bow. The idea is to create an area that didn’t exist before on boats this size. Exterior design on the Azimut Grande 36M is by Alberto Mancini, with interiors by Achille Salvagni.

The Azimut S7 is a 72-foot yacht built with Volvo Penta IPS propulsion and a “super-lightweight” hull for a sporty ride. Azimut says the S7 also reduces fuel consumption and harmful emissions by as much as 30 percent compared to shaft-line boats with traditional chine hulls. Exteriors are by Alberto Mancini, with interiors by Yachtique.

Exterior spaces include a completely open upper deck with dining, sunbathing and a shaded lounge. Inside, there’s sole-to-ceiling glass for great views, with a main-deck master stateroom as well as guest staterooms belowdecks. The yacht can be ordered with a VIP and two guest staterooms, or with twin VIPs.
